ABOUT US

TDA was founded in 1998 by Peter Schmitt to provide textile development services and materials to medical device and components manufacturers. Peter has spent over forty years developing unique and innovative textile-based products for various technical companies, including Meadox Medicals, Boston Scientific, Goodyear Tire & Rubber, Albany International, Tex Tech Industries, Habasit ABT, McMurray Fabrics and ATEX Technologies.

Peter graduated from Philadelphia University (Philadelphia College of Textiles & Science) with a B.S. in Textile Engineering. He is an active member of several professional & trade organizations. His experience spans fiber processing, yarn manufacturing, knitting, weaving, needle felting, finishing, laminating, rubberizing, fabricating, testing, designing, qualifying, and validating in the fields of medical and technical textiles. Peter's inventiveness has led him to the issuance of 43 U.S. patents. His insightfulness and diversified background enable him to be a key contributor and invaluable team member to his customers.
